Welcome to the BRANCH WELFARE and WELLBEING OFFICE  of RNA Rayleigh

Over the last 10 months we have assisted a number of members (full, associate, and their families) in a number of different ways, including:

Arranging 'Attendance Allowance' for a partially sighted member allowing him to afford to pay a cleaner to come to his house on a regular basis as he was struggling to keep it clean.

Another member, who lives on his own, suffered a fall and because he could not get to the telephone to call for help, he had to lay where he fell until someone visited. He now has a 'panic alarm pendant' that he wears around his neck, so that at the press of a button he can call for help. We provided the information about the organisations that provide this service, and he made contact with them. He, his family and ourselves now have peace of mind that he can get help when needed.

We have assisted another member to get a load of rubbish removed from the side of her garage, again, we found a local registered company, put them in touch with our member, and the rubbish was removed.

An RN Widow with Alzheimer's, who was in a care home in Norfolk, has recently been relocated to a care home close to us, so we have visited her to make sure she is ok. This will be an ongoing regular visit.

Another member, who has now sadly passed away, was in hospital, and was regularly visited while he was there. We were also heavily involved in the funeral arrangements as he had no family.

We liaised with, and assisted the family of another member who passed away following a long illness, with the funeral arrangements.

We can, and do, assist wherever and whenever we can, in all sorts of ways. It may be direct assistance, or just signposting to agencies that can help.

If you are a member (full or associate), or your immediate family and dependants need help or advice, please contact us via email on welfare@rnarayleigh.org.uk
